Offensive

If someone told you the sky was red and green stripes with sprinkles on it, you'd be correct to label them stupid, insane or perhaps both and no one would disagree.

Yet, when someone makes an equally as ignorant statement regarding politics and you point out their stupidity or insanity it is a whole other issue.

When it's politics you're labeled 'offensive' or 'racist' or some other incendiary word. And this is something very troublesome to me.

You see, in this great country everyone has a right to their own opinion in politics, even if it's wrong, stupid, ignorant and without any basis in reality. I respect that 'right'. But I don't have to respect their ignorant positions or opinions though. And that is where the trouble lies.

When I point out to my left leaning friends the inaccuracies of their logic or prove them wrong, most of them whine and scream like little 3 yr olds. They call me offensive, racists, hateful etc.

Then they tell me they have the RIGHT to their opinion.

Well, if you're opinion is that 2 + 2 = 7, well I'm sorry,,, ,you're stupid. That's not an opinion,,, that's called being wrong.

And most of them just can't accept that they're wrong.

Very sad!!

Stuck in Facebook

So no posts here for 4 months. And not many before that. It's because we've been using Facebook.

It's faster. More immediate feedback. Now, now, now. No waiting.

And we can see our friends now, now now,, etc etc.

And that's all good,,,, from one perspective.

But from another,,,, it doesn't give you the ability to express your thoughts and feelings quite like a blog does. A blog is just more personal in my opinion.

So,,, what to think of/express now?

Lots of things actually:
1. Kids - my girls are growing up so fast. Hailey's 10 already. Geez.

2. Vic - will we ever find a cure? This just seems to go on and on and on.

3. Politics - don't really want to get started there. So much is wrong with this country now. The direction we're headed. The activists playing leaders.

Just a few. Just a few.

Well,,,, blogged for now. May do more sooner.

Oh,,, it is Easter today. Girls had egg hunt. Good dinner,,,, courtesy of Vic,,,, who despite a massive headache still got a ham baked and potato salad made.

G'nite all!!

Actual Conversation:

Vic: "Dog?"
Joe: "No."
Vic: "Dog?"
Joe: "No."
Vic: "Yes."
Joe: "Ok."

So we now have a 10 week old Cockapoo. Half Cocker Spaniel, half Poodle. The girls decided to name him Chance. I think it's because there's a good chance he'll take 5 yrs off my life. :)

Gracie absolutely adores him and plays with him all the time. Hailey's getting better but very averse to puppy nips. You know how they like to nibble on everything. Alyssa won't get in the same room with him. Terrified. We have a lot of work to do with her, but she'll do fine.

So,,,, here's Chance.

Maturity

My Father was in the Navy. My Uncles were in the Army, Navy and Marines. My Grandfather was in the Army. My Great Great Great etc etc. And I spent 10 yrs in the Navy.

By the time I was 22 yrs old I'd seen every John Wayne war movie ever made and just about every war movie period. I'd heard all the stories. And although I was still an immature 22 yr old guy, I had a deep respect for our nation, our military and those who serve.

Interacted with someone recently who doesn't have a clue about the value, honor and willingness to sacrifice our soldiers and sailors have. This 22 yr old, if she is really that old, has her head stuck in celebrities, singers, concerts and TV.

I hope someday she grows up.

Another Day

We told Gracie last night, due to the messes she was leaving around the house, she could only play with 2 toys at a time. She got very angry with me for enforcing this rule.

Gracie: "Dad, you're no longer part of the family!!"

Dad: "Ok Grace, no snack, food, TV, Computer, toys, water, clothes or anything. Go sit down and wait on your Mother."

Gracie: "What? Why?"

Dad: "Cause I pay for everything here. If I'm not part of the family, I'm not paying for any of your stuff."

Gracie: "GRRRRRR,,,,,,O K!!! You can be a little bit part of the family!!"

Gotta love her
